New Astro tyre range now in stock!
« on: July 11, 2012, 09:45:35 PM »
Some of you may already be aware of these exclusive new tyres and heard some chatter around the different forums and tracks. I am happy to say that they are finally here after months of testing.

Basically there are two treads, Astro -Max and Astro-Grip, and two compounds White and Yellow.

The Astro-Max tyre is designed for use in the wet and also sandy astro tracks.

The Astro-Grip is designed primarily for use on dry astro.

The white compound is 60 shore (soft) and the Yellow compound is 70 shore (Medium).

The amount of traction these tyres give on Astro has to be seen to be believed! Simply awesome  :D

Carb ,yes you are they are new (but wanted for ages for Astro tracks in the uk mainly ), but
have not been tested elsewhere ,with the uk weather ,a couple of us are going to run them
on wet grass ,and see ,the other type may be good on other surfaces ,but as yet an unknown,
the main target use right now is the Euros  ;) ;)

They look quite good, i think they would go very good on a dirt track. Will have to check if PSR orders any in.

Had a Quick blast on dry grass with these new babies ,(meant for wet astro ) and they were ,
very good , excellent grip , the sharp spikes ,just cut through and grip and grip , I think they
would also be great in the wet on grass or Astro .  :) :)

I tested the new tyres on grass and bare (slightly damp) earth today and they are amazing, without question the best largescale tyres I have ever used!! Loads of low speed steering, no high speed understeer, great traction. My car was faultless even over the bumps... Just need to find the right gearing, 31/32/23/26 is too low for wide open spaces but would be fine for tight, technical tracks.

Well same as Clive managed a good day weather wise ,so went off to try the tyres on slightly
damp grass , been hot all day though , Ran 30/33/25/24 to try with the new Dia wheels .
The grip wa simply Awsome , very quick an accurate turns ,also tight ,with no dramas ,long
fast sweeping turns with understeer Gone !!!   very Impressive , Take offs with the massive
EVO RS stage 3  torque ,and Grip ,unfortunately sheared off the middle gear shaft in the
Alloy carrier ,so my run was cut short , new shafts on the way  ;) ;)
